Tuesday 10th October Racing Preview

Every Tuesday, I’ll be on SEN Track to pick out some interesting races worth running an eye over. On the radio, we’ll mostly be reacting to late market moves, but there is enough to mention right now.

Starting off our day of jam-packed racing, we head to Newcastle for Race 2 where the money coming in is being spread between the favourites, which could open the door to a potential roughie coming away with the win. #2 Go Troppo has received some early attention from punters who placed in his first start over this trip. Will be coming into this with strong fitness and will find this easier after holding on quite strongly over the trip. Does like to stay in the midfield, so if he can navigate a good run, he should feature among the other two runners on the podium. #7 Got An Inspiration looks like a serious threat for the win in this race when looking at his current form. In his last start win, he drew the outside gate and still made it look easy as he took the lead inside the final 200m and darted away to finish almost three lengths ahead of the rest of the field.

We make our way down the beautiful peninsula to Mornington for Race 4 where all the money is coming in for the #1 Almairac. Although he will be making his racing debut today, he has been receiving attention from both the early and sharp punters after performing well in the lead-ups. He looks like quite the runner; however, I’d be looking to keep him quite safe as this is his first run and will be starting with an awkwardly drawn barrier. #12 Warmonger will be making his second career start after placing on debut. Had quite a decent run and will be coming into this with some valuable race day experience. The start will be key as he does like to race forward and lead, so if his fitness holds up, he could race away with the win. In terms of a value pick, at $6 (at the time of publishing), I like the #10 Speranzoso who has been racing quite well as of late and looks raring to go and win, especially over this distance. He does like to sit with the pack before making a move, so if space is found, he should have a lot left in the tank to turn the jets on.

Barcaldine Race 3 sets the stage for our third race of the afternoon, where the #9 Highland Eagle has seen some early money come its way and there really isn’t any surprise as to why. He has made six starts since coming back from a break, and over those six races, he has placed in five of them. #4 Here He Looms will be looking to go back-to-back this start after running a stellar race last start. He did settle back during the early stages of the race but put his head down to round them up and win by close to three lengths, so if he is afforded a similar or better run, I wouldn’t be surprised if he came away with back-to-back wins. I do quite like the #1 Without Shame who at $7 (at the time of publishing), presents tremendous value, especially when he is racing in his current form. This distance will suit him well, and he shows good race craft when battling through from the midfield to find space and get to the front.

For our final race of the day, we head to Murwillumbah for Race 4 where it is looking like quite an open race. #8 Aitutaki has seen some early money come in for her. She had a great race last start to finish second from the midfield; however, she will have to overcome a tough barrier draw and quite a quick-paced field if she wants to come away with a maiden win. The favourite #3 Shore To Happen looks to be the main danger this race despite this being her debut start. She has shown extremely positive signs during her trials, and she is favourably drawn, so look for her to use that to her advantage. Since being on debut, the lack of race experience may be an issue, but I’d be willing to look over that considering how comfortable she looked in her most recent trial over a similar distance.

Thanks for following along, and don’t forget to tune into SEN Track to hopefully snag some wins. BOOM!
