24th October Racing Preview

Every Tuesday, I’ll be on SEN Track to pick out some interesting races worth running an eye over. On the radio, we’ll mostly be reacting to late market moves, but there is enough to mention right now.

Starting our day of racing we begin at Grafton for Race 2 where the #2 Fortyfive Parklane has been receiving attention from the early punters this morning. Four of his six wins have come at this track, and he is in some stellar form at the moment with a win and a placing over his last two starts. He does like to sit off the speed, so I’d be looking for him to make a charge late. The favourite #2 Sir Ravanelli also rates quite highly here today as he does have a fantastic record over this track and trip. Undefeated when second-up and gets the gun-run from Gate 1 so looks to be the one to beat and will definitely make sure the other runners have to work hard if they want to come away with the win.

Next up we make our way to Kyneton for Race 5 where it’s shaping up to be quite an open race with multiple runners having the potential to come away with the win. #3 Top Arctic was unlucky last start when just tipped over the line to finish 2nd. The drop back in distance is ideal for him and will surely suit his racing style as he does like to race forward with the pace. #11 Zambezi Khan is coming off quite an impressive win last start and looks set to go back-to-back with both the rise in distance and inside draw being ideal for her chances of coming away with the double.

Race 4 at Mt Isa is the next race we’ll be taking a look at and so far, it really is looking like a race for the favourite #2 Jakazone who is seeing all the early money come his way especially with the low gate draw which will work in dividends. The start will be key as once he gets going it really takes a lot to catch up to him. #3 Fields of Red has been knocking on the door recently with a minor placing and a 4th place finish over its last two starts, however like the favourite he too comes into this with a good draw which could make all the difference. In terms of a value pick, I like the #5 Amber One who in fairness hasn’t looked impressive as of late, however with the favourites preferring to lead the pack, Amber One could utilise his impressive turn of foot post the bend if he is afforded a decent run.

Lastly, we end our day of racing back at Grafton for Race 5 where it is shaping up to be a battle between the #6 The Young Years and the #7 More Elements. Both runners will be looking to race more forward and lead, however I feel that the #6 has a bit more to its racing craft and the distance should suit her well. #7 clearly prefers a run where she is towards the front, so the start of the race is key as he doesn’t perform as well when coming from the back. #9 Angry Bet is my value pick for this race. She hasn’t blown the socks off over her trial runs, but with the inside rail draw she could be every chance to pose a challenge to the leaders.

Thanks for following along, and don’t forget to tune into SEN Track to hopefully snag some wins. BOOM!
