Every Tuesday, I’ll be on SEN Track to pick out some interesting races worth running an eye over. On the radio, we’ll mostly be reacting to late market moves, but there is enough to mention right now.
It is a beautiful Tuesday, and we look set for a stellar day of racing! We will be starting the day off at Grafton for Race 3 where the early money coming in so far looks quite split up between the two favourites. #2 Our Pappy has been getting the majority of attention from punters which is understandable as the extremely short price for the favourite isn’t that appealing to punters. Our Pappy looks absolutely primed to come out and run a good run after a solid 5th place on debut. He will be a lot fitter and the experience gained from that debut run should pay dividends. #10 Mawsons Expedition also received some early movement but has slowed down. I’d be looking at market movements closer to jump to if I am looking to back it. Finally, #11 Enterprise Lucia the favourite has been extremely consistent as of late and drop in trip will suit her, so it really is her race to lose.
Next up we make our way to Kilcoy for Race 2 where all the money coming in so far is for the #4 Masterplan, who raced quite well last start to win when 2nd-Up. Comes in with a decent draw and does close out races quite well which does appeal especially with the $5 price. (At the time of publishing) The favourite #2Bronze Dragon will be making a long-awaited return back to racing and will be aided by the inside draw, however I would like to see him run a few more races before having the confidence to back him. I also quite like the #6 Ancient Mission who was racing in some good form before taking a break but did win her maiden over this track and distance.
Next up we are back in Grafton for Race 5 where it is all about the #14 Kimmela. Performed well when she returned back to racing and the rise in distance will suit her tremendously. The start will be key, but if she can find herself in a good position come the final straight, I’d be looking at her to pose a challenge. #12 Change the Date coming into this as a genuine top three contender after finishing 2nd at three of his last four starts, so he looks primed and ready to finally add a maiden win to his record.
Lastly, we end our day of racing at Swan Hill for Race 6 where it is looking set to be an open race with all the early market movement. #1 Brilliant Venture finished runner up last start over this track and distance, so I’d be looking for him to challenge for the win again. #4 Makbeel has also been receiving attention by punters because of his recent form with two placings in his last two starts. Has been knocking at the door and gets his best opportunity to add another win to his record with the inside draw.
