Every Tuesday, I’ll be on SEN Track to pick out some interesting races worth running the eye over. On the radio we’ll mostly be reacting to late market moves, but there is enough to mention right now.

We will be starting the day in Rockhampton for Race 4 where it is gearing up to potentially be a close race with multiple runners capable of coming away with a win. Majority of the early money coming in is going against the favourite #4 Freckle Rock, with #6 Straun Lad getting the attention of punters. Straun Lad will be coming into this with an unbeaten record over this Trk/Dst, which will boost the confidence of punters. However, Freckle Road also comes into this race with a stellar record, finding the podium in all five career starts. The rise in distance looks ideal for him and will be a lot fitter for it. With Freckle Road preferring to lead throughout and Straun Lad preferring to hold back until after the bend, we could be on for quite a competitive finish of the race down the final straight.

Next up, we’ll be making our way down south to Victoria for Donald Race 6. With the majority of the money coming in for the two favourites, #10 Royalz and #11 Justdoit, it is gearing up to be quite an interesting race with both runners most likely coming in with opposing strategies. Royalz will have confidence coming into this after securing a maiden win in her last start, however she will be going up in class. Despite that she draws a favourable low draw which should work in dividends given her appetite to get in front and lead. On the other hand, Justdoit will be back racing in a grade that will be more at her level after just narrowly missing the post at Moe to finish 2nd. If she can hold onto a good position mid race and find space, I’d be looking at her to wind up strongly towards the back end of the race. #8 Thalursian is one to look out for this race, and at $5 presents some good value for the punters going against the favourite. Hasn’t had the best record as of late but will be dropping back in class and should be firing on all cylinders to get back on the podium.

We have been seeing some sharp money come in for the #2 Hardly The End who will be making her Quirindi debut in Race 6. She comes into this race having won 2 out of 3 starts over this distance and will thrive off the low draw and should prove to be right there in contention with the leaders come the final straight. The favourite #4 Aquarter enjoyed some good form finishing in the podium in 4 of her last starts with 2 wins before going on a break. Will be coming back after a strong trail win and is drawn well. Race fitness could be an issue but if he can stay thereabouts with the pack, I wouldn’t be surprised if it runs the perfect run. #8 Captain Wise presents some good value at $8, especially since winning in its last start over 1000m. The only concern will be the rise in class and the wide draw, but definitely commands consideration if it is afforded the right run.

Finally for our last race, we make our way back to Rockhampton for Race 6. #9 Nano Star seems to be getting some attention from punters after finishing runner up at Rockhampton in its last start. Only has the one career win, but has been racing consistently lately and has backed that up with 2 minor placings in its last 4. Would need some luck to get over some of the other stronger runners in the field, but if it gets a good run could definitely give the favourites some trouble come the end of the race. #10 Gives Me Chills is looking to be a top-three prospect coming into this race after winning her maiden here at Rockhampton. Her recent form hasn’t been as consistent as Nano Star or the favourite #3 Peggie Boom but she does have a strong turn of foot and could turn the jets on post the bend if she can find some room. Despite the consecutive 5th place finishes for Peggie Boom, I do see her going all the way and coming away with another career win. Not because of the “Boom” in her name but because despite the last two finishes she has been racing in stronger company and wasn’t that far off. Definitely has the ability to be in the finish, and with a quick back-up will be coming into this a lot fitter.

Tune in to SEN Track from 1pm every Tuesday to hear more from me and BoomBet.
