These two have met just once with South African born Norrie winning on clay in a retirement in 2021, hardly a strong guide. Goffin has continued to defy the odds with three straight upset wins including an impressive 4th Round win over Francis Tiafoe. Norrie has won three of his four in straight sets but a five-setter in the second round showed some vulnerabilities. Goffin is outstanding value.

Maria has beaten two Top 15 players in her last two matches to advance to the quarter finals. Maria pulled off one of her two WTA wins this year so her form is strong. Julia Niemeier has been outstanding dropping just one set but she still has a bit to prove on such a big stage in her first Grand Slam in the main draw.
