STATE OF ORIGIN II BOOMS

Boom Best
New South Wales -2.5 v Queensland ($1.95)
NSW were soundly beaten at home in the opener but look to be in a good place to level the series heading into Game 2. Brad Fittler made mass changes and those changes were, for the most part, necessary. This Blues team looks far more balanced. There is also no doubt that the Blues will not get as dominated in the ruck as they did in the opener. It is hard to see the Blues not winning the close calls either. The last six game one losers to play at home or on neutral turf have won. The Blues are are a confident play here.

Boom Value
New South Wales 13+ ($3.60)
Four of the last five NSW wins have been by more than 24 points so the upside with the Blues makes the 13-plus a bet. They are not a team to grind out a win. The last match at Perth saw the Blues run away 32-point winners. There is value in the big win here.

Boom Boom
Liam Martin Try ($5.10)
Liam Martin has been in good tryscoring form this year with five tries in 13 games including the last one against New Zealand. Backrowers don’t have a great record in Origin in recent years but he went close in the opener and should get opportunities, particularly if the game blows out.
