Wednesday Racing Booms

Best of the Best

Murray Bridge Race 1
7 Street Swagger
Showed very little during his first preparation but happy to forgive that preparation. He is a nicely bred type and gets a big improvement in the saddle with Todd Pannell taking the ride. Was a big trial improver.

Kensington Race 6 (5.15pm)
1 Easy Campese ($3.80)
More-than-handy John Sargent mare who has her foot on the till after an excellent run off an eight-week let-up. Didn’t get a lot of luck when running on well for second behind Crosscheck in Midway company.
Boom-o-meter: 70%

Ipswich Race 7 (6.10pm)
8 Naughty Harry
David Vandyke gelding who was hammered on debut into $8 and did right by the punters wen saluting in style. Came from midfield to win by ¾ of a length with some excellent let-down speed. Senior rider jumps on board.

Belmont Race 5 (7.15pm)
6 Kohli ($5.00)
Former Victorian now in WA with Lindsey Smith. Paul Harvey is in the saddle, always a plus. Pushed a little wide at local debut but came again off the back of a torrid run, an excellent sign. Second-up record is a win and a place from two starts. Will be very hard to hold out.
Boom-o-meter: 75%

Sandown Race 8 (7.30pm)
6 Minouche ($3.50)
Godolphin filly who started her career in NSW, winning her second career start in Newcastle before a nice second behind Jullette last start at Caulfield. Heavily supported but bettors did not get the boom that day. Look primed to get it back here.

Best Exotic

Belmont Race 3
Quinella: 2,5

2 Cash Away won well resuming at his second start at the Pinjarra Scarpside course. Really savaged the line. 5 Something ready does not win out of turn but has finished in the trifecta in seven of 12 starts and has never missed a place in four runs at the trip.
