Newcastle Jets v Wellington Phoenix
The Jets will be out for their first win this weekend, after a few draws the last few weeks. They will face a Wellington side who is looking to bounce back after a defeat last week against the Wanderers. Both sides have been up and down all season and this game is pivotal for both teams. It will be a very tight game between both sides with Newcastle starting at $2.48 favourites, provides very good value.
Prediction: 1-1 draw
Western United v Brisbane Roar
The Roar return to Victoria, and this week, will be up against Western United who last weekend beat the reigning premiers Melbourne City. Again, it will be a tough ask for the Roar who have not won a game all season and have only scored the one goal. Western United will be on a high after their victory, and go in as favourites and Dylan Wenzal-Halls ($2.72 anytime goal) will look to maintain his scoring record.
Prediction: Western United 2-1
Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory
The “original derby” kicks us off on Saturday night, and it will be Victory who are looking to bounce back after a defeat last game against the Glory. It will be a tough one for them against the Reds, who are searching for their first win of the season. The home crowd will be with the Reds but with no wins on the board, the pressure will be on Adelaide. Victory at $3.20 provides excellent value and will have the firepower to score goals.
Prediction: Melbourne Victory 3-2
Western Sydney Wanderers v Macarthur Bulls
The Bulls sit on top of the A-League ladder and will want to extend that lead against the Wanderers this week. Both teams had victories last weekend with the Wanderers looking the most convincing. The Wanderers go in as favourites for this game, but will be wary of the threat that the Bulls provide, with Lachlan Rose ($3.10 anytime goal) looking to add to his goal tally.
Prediction: 2-2 draw
Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC
Sydney have been the big disappoint of the season so far, and have yet to win a single game. They face the Mariners this week, and even though the Mariners have not won since their first game, they have been rather competitive. Sydney will be looking for goals this week and Adam LeFondre ($2.17 anytime goal) will want to add to his one goal tally for the season.
Prediction: Central Coast 2-1
*Melbourne City beat Perth Glory 1-0 in the Wednesday night game.
